At Dr. Mack Is In – Cherry Blossom Natural Wellness, patients receive care that goes far beyond the typical short office visit. Dr. Janelle Mackowiak, affectionately known as Dr. Mack, brings a unique blend of naturopathic medicine and chiropractic training to the Oxford community.
“I always tell people that I am not a chiropractor in the traditional sense,” Dr. Mack shared. “My focus is really internal medicine and helping the body heal from the inside out.”
Dr. Mack is a licensed naturopathic physician and chiropractor, and there are only about 35 naturopathic physicians practicing in the entire state of Michigan. Her care model emphasizes holistic solutions rather than pharmaceuticals whenever possible. She utilizes nutraceuticals, herbs, vitamins, minerals, hormone support, and advanced specialty testing to uncover what is happening beneath the surface. Instead of running only 20 to 25 standard lab markers, Dr. Mack often evaluates 70 or more markers, allowing for deeper insight into gut health, hormone balance, food sensitivities, heavy metals, and more.
“My goal is to help people truly thrive, not just survive,” she said.
Dr. Mack is also actively involved in the local business community. She proudly serves as a Chamber Ambassador, participates in Coffee Connects, Business After Hours mixers, ribbon cuttings when possible, and is a long-time member of the Oxford Power Networking Group (OPN). What she enjoys most about the Chamber is the strong network of professionals and the ability to make trusted referrals for her patients when needs arise outside of healthcare.
One of the biggest differences patients notice right away is the time-centered approach Dr. Mack takes with each individual. Initial appointments last a full 90 minutes, allowing space to truly be heard and understood. “You are not just a chart to me,” she explained. “Your story matters and that is where real healing begins.”
