HealthQuest Physical Therapy: Supporting Families, Athletes, and Neighbors
HealthQuest Physical Therapy has been part of Oxford for nearly 21 years, growing alongside the community since opening its doors in 2005. Co-owner and director Dan Garr splits his time between administrative work and patient care, and his passion for both shines through in every conversation.
HealthQuest offers a full range of orthopedic physical therapy services, treating everything from chronic neck and back issues to pre and post-operative recovery for shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles. The team of therapists at HealthQuest is highly skilled and trained in advanced manual techniques designed to help you feel your best. The mission is simple. “We are not healers. We are coaches,” he said. “Movement is medicine, and our goal is to teach people how to move better so they can feel better.”
While most patients come through doctor referrals or recommendations from family and friends, HealthQuest also offers free consultations for anyone unsure about their needs. They provide cash-based options and even payment plans so cost is never a barrier to getting help.
A major part of HealthQuest’s connection to Oxford comes from its involvement with local athletes. Dan and his team have supported the high school and middle school athletic programs for 18 years. “I have kids now who I saw as students who are coming in as parents. That is the small-town magic of Oxford,” Dan said.
Dan is highly engaged with the Oxford Chamber of Commerce and the Oxford Power Networking Group, which he describes as “good people referring good people to good people.” He makes a point to attend ribbon cuttings, Coffee Connects, concerts, and community events whenever he can.
Inside the clinic, the HealthQuest team focuses on making every visit meaningful. “I tell people I want to meet them, greet them, treat them, and street them,” Dan said. “If they leave without a good laugh or without being pushed a little more than they expected, then we missed our purpose.”
HealthQuest stands out for its extended hours, opening as early as 6 a.m. and staying open until 8 p.m., plus Saturday appointments. Dan even sees patients on Sundays if needed. “It is what you do in a small town,” he said.
Despite being part of a larger organization, Dan says their Oxford clinic stays true to the heart of the community. “We know what small town means here, and we always try to give people more than what they expected.”
