Carter Quality Hardwood Flooring, Inc.: Craftsmanship Rooted in Community
Jason Carter has built Carter Quality Hardwood Flooring on skill, dedication, and a deep connection to the Oxford community. Jason moved to Oxford at age four, graduated from Oxford High School in 2000, and grew his flooring career from hands-on work to leading a respected local company. “I thought I wanted to stay blue collar and swing a mallet forever” he said with a smile. “Twenty years later, I am one hundred percent white collar and now I sit in the office while my crews install floors.”
The company runs three crews and focuses almost entirely on residential hardwood flooring. Services include cleaning, repairs, refinishing, restoring century old floors, and new installations. While they occasionally handle vinyl work or small commercial projects, the heart of the business is residential hardwood. “We have restored homes that are more than one hundred years old,” Jason explained. “We can tackle anything from a crawl space subfloor to a full restoration.”
Carter Quality Hardwood Flooring stands out for its expertise. All employees hold certifications from outside organizations and the company has earned more certifications than any other flooring provider in the region. “We hold the only three certifications for installing hardwood within a twenty mile radius and three of the five sanding and finishing certifications in that same area,” Jason noted. “We are Oxford and Lake Orion’s hometown restoration specialists.”
Service and accountability remain the cornerstone of the business. Jason believes strongly in transparency, even when projects encounter challenges. “Every company has issues. It is how you take care of the problem that shows how good you are” he said. “Some of our best reviews came from jobs where something went wrong and we came back, fixed it, and exceeded expectations.”
Jason is also deeply invested in giving back to the community. Carter Quality has sponsored a Dragon Boat team for more than a decade and regularly raises funds for the American Cancer Society and Parkinson’s Disease awareness. Jason serves as an Oxford ambassador for the American Cancer Society and sits on several community and school related advisory groups. “I am trying to give back to the community that raised me” he said. “Oxford shaped me, tolerated my shenanigans, and gave me every opportunity. Now I want to pay that forward.”
As an Oxford Chamber board member, Jason continues his commitment to local growth and collaboration. He and his wife are raising their two children in Oxford and plan to stay long term. “This has always been home,” he shared. “I want to stay involved, help this community grow, and support the people who supported me.”
Carter Quality Hardwood Flooring remains a trusted local business built on integrity, craftsmanship, and a genuine love for the community it serves.
