View Newspaper Group is a locally-owned community newspaper group founded in 2003 by Lapeer native Rick Burrough. The company started with one startup newspaper – the Lapeer Area View, and in 22 years has grown to 22 newspapers through a combination of acquisitions and startups, including their latest startup – the St. Clair Area View, which launched in May 2025.

View Newspaper Group covers 14 counties in Michigan mailing more than 352,000 copies per week. Locally, the Oxford Leader has served the community for more than 125 years. View Newspaper Group acquired the Oxford Leader in 2022 from the Sherman family.

The team is proud to be Your Community Connection and happily makes the significant investment to print and mail the Oxford Leader to more 10,000 homes for free each week.

In addition, View Newspaper Group is proud to give back to the communities it serves. Last year alone View Newspaper Group supported area nonprofits and events with more than $180,000 of donations and sponsorships, this is in addition to low or no cost advertising offered to those group in the communities their serve. In over a decade of planning their signature events View Newspaper Group has raised more than $300,000 for their nonprofit partners. Many of their team members volunteer in their community and all View Newspaper Group leadership team members hold board positions on nonprofit boards throughout the state.

The team has hundreds of years of combined experience in advertising, marketing, branding and trusted, factual and fair community reporting. In 2025 their team took home 91 awards from the Michigan Press Association for excellent in reporting, photography and design.
