Creative Embroidery & Screen Printing: Rooted in Oxford, Driven by Creativity
.
Located at 10 East Burdick Street in downtown Oxford, Creative Embroidery & Screen Printing is a locally owned business specializing in custom embroidery, screen printing, and personalized gifts for any occasion. From weddings and babies to graduations, business apparel, and school spirit wear, the shop is known for thoughtful design and high-quality craftsmanship.
.
Owner Ashley Steudle has deep roots in the Oxford community. “I grew up in Oxford,” she shared. With the help of her parents, Ashley purchased Creative Embroidery & Screen Printing at just 19 years old and has been running it ever since. The business itself dates back to 1993, with Ashley taking ownership in 2010.
.
While the shop offers a wide variety of personalized gifts, Ashley’s favorite work centers on helping other businesses succeed. “My favorite thing is the embroidery and the screen printing of business logos,” she said. “I like being able to help small businesses promote themselves by putting their logo on apparel. The best advertisement is a walking advertisement.”
.
Creative Embroidery & Screen Printing is also well known for Oxford Wildcats apparel and has recently expanded to support additional schools and organizations. Partnerships include Lapeer Virtual Partnership, the Imlay City Dance Team, and the 42 Strong Foundation. For several groups, the shop manages online stores and donates a portion of sales back to the organization. “We make it and then a portion of the sales goes back to that organization. So it’s good to benefit everybody,” Ashley explained.
.
Giving back is a core value. Following a tragic community incident, Ashley and her team produced shirts and donated $30,000 from the proceeds. “That was a lot of work,” she said, “but it was very nice to be able to do that.”
.
Ashley prefers collaborating with customers by email so she can thoughtfully develop designs. “Email is better. That way I have time to think and create and come up with a few different proofs,” she said. While customers see a font book with 20 to 30 options, Ashley has access to hundreds more, allowing her to create truly custom pieces. For those unsure what they want, she asks questions about the recipient, interests, and style. “I can basically do anything, which is fun. I like the creativity of not doing the same thing every day.”
.
Looking ahead, the shop is introducing new varsity-style embroidery options and memory banners, offering more affordable and lasting keepsakes for students and families.
