Locally owned by Keith Cohen and his son co-owner Shane Cohen, the Oxford location represents multiple generations carrying forward a brand that began in 1956. “Our chicken is always fresh never frozen. That dedication to freshness is at the heart of what sets Chicken Shack apart. Our products are prepared daily, and cooked to order. As Keith explained, “We’re not fast food at all. It’s a fresh meal every time, from classic bone in chicken, chicken tenders, nuggets, sandwiches, ribs, and seafood to family packs and on the spot catering. Catering has quickly become a standout, with the ability to accommodate last minute needs for parties, offices, and events. Popular sides include their signature Shack Potatoes, which are hand cut daily, along with coleslaw made in house daily, Onion rings, Mushrooms, and original recipe sauces.

Chicken Shack history is proudly displayed throughout the Oxford location. Guests will notice nostalgic design elements and artwork that pay tribute to the brand’s roots, including original Chicken Shack artwork created by Keith’s mother. Her designs helped shape the early look and feel of Chicken Shack and remain an important part of the story. That legacy is now carried forward in a modern space that blends tradition with a fresh, updated design.

Chicken Shack Oxford is truly a family run business. Keith and Shane are often on site, supported by their wives, Sharon Cohen and Lesley Cohen, who help manage operations and keep everything running smoothly. “You can pretty much bet that there’ll be one of us here when you come to visit,” Keith said. “We truly care that people have a great experience when they walk in the door.”

Open seven days a week from 11 am to 9 pm, Chicken Shack Oxford looks forward to serving the Oxford community. A ribbon cutting celebration will take place on January 28th at 10:30 am, welcoming the community to stop in, meet the family, and enjoy some freshly made samples.
